Schedule of Social Security benefits for August 2022

Early August is the scheduled date for Social Security checks to be mailed.

The Social Security cost-of-living increase for 2022 will be 5.9%,

the largest in nearly 40 years, and it's expected to rise even further in 2023.

The Social Security schedule for August is as follows:

1. Your payment will be distributed on Wednesday, August 10 if you were born on the 1st-10th of the month.

2. If you were born between the 11th and 20th of August, your payment will be distributed on Wednesday, August 17.

3. If your birth date is between 21st and 31st, your payment will be distributed on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

If your Social Security checks aren't enough to cover basic living expenses,

you may qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSI provides monthly payments to adults

And children with disabilities (or partial or complete blindness) that prevent them from working.

SSI recipients must still meet financial qualifications.

The SSI programme is also open to those 65 and older with low incomes and resources.

You will get Social Security on August 3 and SSI on August 1 if you started receiving Social Security

before May 1997 or if you now receive both Social Security and SSI. The Social Security Administration

Advises waiting three extra postal days beyond your scheduled payment date before getting in touch with them if you don't get your money as expected.
