As hundreds of Americans are eager to get more Child Tax Credits, a lot of uncertainty is going around.

These amounts were paid out on the 15th of the month from July to December with a final Child Tax Credit payment to come in April of 2022.

The Facebook user writes at the bottom of the post, "Watch for that April payment, it's coming.

The comment makes it appear as though you'll be getting another payment round, but this isn't the case.

Normally you would just get your Child Tax Credit when you filed your taxes and it's different this year. You got half of it early 

And the other half when you file your tax return. The key here is that the "payment" in April of 2022 is credited 

To you when you file your taxes and claim the credit, which often results in a refund.

Because you received part of your refund in the form of Advanced Child Tax payments in July, August, September, October,

November, and December, your refund will most likely be smaller this year. Remember, Tax Day isn't on April 15, 2022; it's on April 18, 2022, 

The Monday following Easter. You don't want to miss the deadline, especially if you're behind on payments.

If you owe $4,000 and decide not to file because you don't have the money, you'll owe $5,000 by September, so even if you can't pay, 

the best thing you can do is file that tax return anyway. Remember that a filing extension is different from a payment extension.
