Can you expect to receive this check in a few days since this is the first COLA payment for 2022?

Since January 13, Social Security COLA payments have been distributed. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, beneficiaries have begun receiving them.

Those born within the first 10 days of a month should receive their COLA payments through the mail (or have already received them).

Due to the inflation adjustment, COLA payments are expected to increase by 5.9% in 2022. The adjustment is the largest since 1982.

Workers will receive a monthly check that will increase from $1,565 to $1,657 per month.

Remember that the increase in the amount of pay is linked to the increase in the

Consumer price index - inflation - determined by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

When will payments arrive for SSI beneficiaries?

The fourth Wednesday of every month is also available to those with birthdays between the 21st and 31st.

In December, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sent COLA notices to retirement, survivor, and disabled beneficiaries.

The monthly check for SSI recipients will increase to approximately $841 from $794. A letter explaining the increase will also be sent to them.

Additional benefits are available to divorced retirees and their former spouses.
